Established in 1822 and incorporated in 1949, Morgan’s Point is located 30 miles east of Houston in Harris County adjacent to Galveston Bay at the inlet to the Houston Ship Channel.

This City has approximately 356 residents and is located within the La Porte Independent School District. Morgan’s Point is a quiet community with a small-town atmosphere.

The City offers excellent city services, safe neighborhoods, and is a great place to raise a family or retire. Rich in Texas history, you will find many historical markers around the City.

Morgan’s Point National Historic District includes the “Carriage House” otherwise known as City Hall, and the Governor Ross S. Sterling mansion directly across the street; as well as several other notable properties.

The City is home to the Port Houston Authority’s Barbours Cut container terminal; the largest on the Gulf Coast. As well as, the world’s largest international ethane export facility; owned and operated by Enterprise Products Partners L.P.

The City’s close proximity to Houston makes it convenient to enjoy popular tourist attractions, cultural activities, and access to the Texas Medical Center.
